Bayern ace back in training after nine months out

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has returned to first-team training for the first time in nine months.

Ribery, 32, has been sidelined since March with an ankle injury and could find it hard to get back into Pep Guardiola’s staring line up following the arrivals of Kingsley Coman and Douglas Costa.

The former France international commented on his return: “It is a very big day for me, very emotional.”

Ribery was limited to just 959 minutes Bundesliga action from a possible 3,060, but was still made a telling contribution every 79.9 mins.
