Leeds considering Barcelona outcast

Leeds are pondering a move for out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Rafinha as they gear up for their Premier League return, reports talkSPORT.

The Brazilian has never fully convinced the Blaugrana that he deserves a regular spot in the first team and he spent last season on loan at Celta Vigo, his second such spell with the Spanish side.

Rafinha is believed to be keen on a move to England as he fancies challenging himself in the Premier League with Leeds looking at handing him a chance to test his qualities in England's top tier.

Barcelona are willing to listen to offers for Rafinha, whose brother, Thiago, has been linked with a move to Liverpool and Manchester United.

However, the LaLiga powerhouse are demanding at least £14m for the 27-year-old, which Leeds are hoping to negotiate down.

Leeds have been busy in the market already this summer having spent upwards of £40m to sign Rodrigo and Robin Koch from Valencia and Freiburg, respectively.

The Championship champions would also face competition for his services from Celta Vigo, who are looking to make Rafinha's move permanent after a solid season despite their brush with relegation.
