Inter are considering a sensation swoop for Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Spain international has just one year left to run on his current deal for the Blaugrana, yet recently appointed head coach Ernesto Valverde is already preparing for life without Iniesta.
However, the 33-year-old endured an injury hit campaign, making just 13 league starts for Barcelona and there has been no suggestion that he will extend his contract beyond 2018.
Inter supremo Piero Ausilio and Barcelona counterpart Ariedo Braida met recently to talk over a potential deal for Aleix Vidal, though Iniesta was mentioned in their recent discussions with a view to a possible move.
Iniesta would depart with a heavy heart given he came through the Barcelona ranks and is a firm fan favourite at Camp Nou.
