Crystal Palace want West Ham forward

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has earmarked West Ham forward Michail Antonio as a top transfer target this summer, claims The Guardian.

Hodgson did a remarkable job to steer Palace well clear of relegation this season and now the former England manager wants new signings to help kick the team on next term.

The Eagles want to make Wilfried Zaha the best paid player in the club’s history in order to convince the forward to stay at the club this summer.

Manchester City and Tottenham have been linked with summer moves for the Ivory Coast international but Palace are determined to hold on to the 25-year-old.

Hodgson is also planning to bolster his offensive options to ease the burden on Zaha next summer, with Antonio in Palace’s sights.

The 28-year-old endured a nightmare season with reoccurring muscle injuries this season, managing only 16 Premier League starts.

However, Antonio’s versatility appeals to Hodgson and wants the former England international to replace Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who returns to Chelsea following a season-long loan spell.

West Ham had a much better win ratio in the Premier League when Antonio was able to start (37.5%) in the 2017/18 camapign compared to when he did not feature from the off (18.2%).
