Draxler not interested in leaving Paris Saint-Germain, says agent

The agent of Julian Draxler has reiterated his client has no interest in leaving Paris Saint-Germain this month.

Reports emerged midway through last week suggesting the Ligue 1 giants had told Draxler to find a new club in the wake of Neymar’s world record arrival.

The Germany international has been one of PSG’s best players since joining in January but Neymar’s arrival has pushed him out of the team.

However, Draxler’s agent, Roger Wittmann, has moved to rubbish suggestions the 23-year-old’s time at the club is about to come to an end.

“We are not interested in whether L’Equipe wrote something,” he told Sport 1 in Germany in response to suggestions Draxler has to leave this month. “There has been no chance, it is not a topic.

“If somebody writes, ‘I have this information from Nasser Al-Khelaifi [PSG chairman]’, then I will consider it and call the president to speak about Julian’s situation.

“Once again, though, that is not the case. So, everything has been said.”

Draxler has not featured in PSG’s opening two league games this season after being given an extended summer break but has been included in the squad for Sunday evening’s clash with Toulouse.

Of players that have attempted at least 40 dribbles in Ligue 1 in 2017, only Marco Verratti (84.4%) and Stephane Sessegnon (80.3%) have a better success rate than Draxler (73.3%).
