Team News

Celtic
Ross County
  • Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged Celts side that hammered Hearts 4-1 at Tynecastle, before they were held at home by Club Brugge in the Champions League in a 1-1 draw at Parkhead on Wednesday night.
  • Kasper Schmeichel continued in goal, behind a back four of Greg Taylor, Cameron Carter-Vickers - who scored an unfortunate own goal - Auston Trusty and Alistair Johnston.
  • Captain Callum McGregor, Arne Engels and Reo Hatate were chosen as the midfield trio once more. Midweek goalscorer Daizen Maeda and Nicholas Kühn supported Kyogo Furuhashi in attack.
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made two changes after the Staggies fell to a 3-0 defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice before the international break, before picking up a pivotal three points against Motherwell in Dingwall in a 2-1 win.
  • Ross Laidlaw continued in goal, as Ryan Leak remained in the Staggies back three alongside Kacper Lopata and Akil Wright. George Harmon took Elijah Campbell's place at left wing-back, with James Brown on the right-hand side.
  • Josh Nisbet and Connor Randall were accompanied in the midfield three by Noah Chilvers as opposed to Aidan Denholm. Ronan Hale and Jordan White started in the Staggies' frontline again on Saturday.

Prediction

  • Celtic and Ross County meet for the second time in the Scottish Premiership this season, after the Staggies gave Celtic a scare up in Dingwall back in October.
  • The Hoops hammered Hearts 4-1 at Tynecastle in their last domestic game, as Celtic have now won their opening seven away league matches for the fourth time after doing so in 1957/58 (10), 1971/72 (9) and 2017/18 (7). They will be disappointed not to win their midweek match, but a point at Parkhead against Club Brugge could prove enough to advance in the Champions League.
  • Ross County ended their poor recent run against Motherwell, having won just one of their previous 10 league meetings with the Well before the weekend, having gone three league games without scoring. One of two teams seeking their first away Scottish Premiership victory of the season in six games, no side has scored fewer league goals on their travels than the Staggies (1).
  • Celtic left it late to leave the Highlands with three points a few months ago but, despite the Staggies' success last Saturday, the Hoops should cruise past County in Glasgow.
