Team News

Aberdeen
Dundee United
  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named an unchanged Dons team yet again after they left it late to beat Hearts 3-2 at Pittodrie prior to the international break, before they bounced back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Celtic in Glasgow.
  • Dimitar Mitov continued in goal behind Jack MacKenzie, Gavin Molloy, Slobodan Rubezic and Nicky Devlin - the unchanged back four in front of him. Captain Graeme Shinnie accompanied Sivert Nilsen in midfield to take on the league leaders.
  • Jamie McGrath, Leighton Clarkson and Topi Keskinen supported lone striker Kevin Nisbet in the Aberdeen attack. The likes of Shayden Morris, Duk and Ester Sokler changed the game at Celtic Park so may be given an opportunity to impress here.
  • Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin named four changes to the Terrors team that beat St Mirren 1-0 in Paisley prior to the international break, before a crazy comeback against Hibernian as two injury time goals saw them win 3-2 at Tannadice.
  • Jack Walton continued in goal behind Declan Gallagher and Emmanuel Adegboyega being joined by Kevin Holt as opposed to Ross Graham. Will Ferry and Luca Stephenson continued at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
  • David Babunski came into midfield as Ross Docherty and Craig Sibbald made way in the middle of the park against the Hibees. Glenn Middleton and Miller Thomson supported lone striker Sam Dalby as Jort van der Sande dropped onto the bench.

Prediction

  • The side in second place and the team sat in fourth go head-to-head at Pittodrie as Aberdeen host Dundee United in a later kick-off on Saturday evening.
  • Aberdeen claimed a first point at Parkhead since a goalless draw in March 2019, having lost each of their last eight league visits to Celtic Park before the weekend. The Dons will rightly feel as though they could've won the game, in which case the world would've sat up to take notice, but they'll hope that their incredible start to the season can continue against a newly promoted outfit.
  • Dundee United head to Pittodrie hopeful of causing an upset after a five-goal thriller against Hibernian in their last Scottish Premiership match, which has perhaps summed up their electric start to the season. 93rd and 99th minute goals saw them leave the Hibees heartbroken, sending them bottom of the pile, and Jim Goodwin would love revenge on his former club on Saturday evening.
  • Dundee United can certainly pose a threat, but Aberdeen have won their last two against United so the Dons should have enough to beat the Terrors at teatime on Saturday.
