St. Johnstone
- Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers named four changes to the Celts side that played out a disappointing goalless draw at Tannadice against Dundee United, before they beat Motherwell 4-0 at Parkhead to return to winning ways on Boxing Day.
- Kasper Schmeichel continued in goal. Greg Taylor, Liam Scales and Anthony Ralston were joined in the back four by Cameron Carter-Vickers as opposed to Stephen Welsh.
- Club captain Callum McGregor was joined in midfield by Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo as Luke McCowan and Reo Hatate made way. Hyun-Jun Yang and Daizen Maeda supported Adam Idah, instead of Kyogo Furuhashi, in the Hoops' frontline.
- St Johnstone boss Simo Valakari named three changes to the Saints side that lost 2-1 to fellow strugglers Hearts at Tynecastle, before defeat to Dundee United at McDiarmid Park by the same scoreline on Boxing Day.
- Josh Rae continued in goal as Saints switched to a 3-5-2. Andre Raymond and Aaron Essel had started as the full-backs in Edinburgh but made way for Kyle Cameron to enter a three-man defence alongside Jack Sanders and Bozo Mikulic.
- Drey Wright started at left wing-back, with the incoming David Keltjens starting on the right hand side. Jason Holt and Sven Sprangler were joined in midfield by Graham Carey, who supported Makenzie Kirk and Benji Kimpioka in attack as Adama Sidibeh dropped onto the bench.
