Team News

Ross County
Celtic
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made just one change after the Staggies battled back to claim a 3-3 draw against St Johnstone in the Highlands, before Hearts nicked a late leveller which saw them leave Edinburgh with a point last weekend.
  • Ryan Leak joined Akil Wright and Kacper Lopata in the trio of County centre-backs. Elijah Campbell kept his place on the left side of defence, as Michee Efete replaced James Brown at right wing-back.
  • Aidan Denholm is on loan from Hearts so missed out against his parent club. Noah Chilvers joined Connor Randall and Josh Nisbet in midfield once more. Jordan White partnered Ronan Hale at Eamonn Brophy's expense up front.
  • Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers named an unchanged team after the Celts swept St Johnstone aside 6-0 in Perth on Saturday evening, before they were destroyed in Dortmund 7-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
  • Kasper Schmeichel continued in goal, behind an unchanged back four of Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Auston Trusty and Alistair Johnston as Cameron Carter-Vickers missed the trip to Germany through injury.
  • Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor and Arne Engels were chosen once more in midfield, as Reo Hatate was sat among the substitutes. Daizen Maeda netted what proved a consolation, as he joined Nicholas Kühn in support of Kyogo Furuhashi up front.

Prediction

  • Both Ross County and Celtic are looking to get over disappointments in their last match, as the two go head-to-head in the Highlands in a Sunday lunchtime kick-off.
  • Ross County spurned a glorious chance to record just a second top-flight victory at Tynecastle, with a 1-0 win over Hearts in March 2017 the only other time they've left Gorgie with three points. The Staggies were seconds away from winning back-to-back meetings against the Jambos for the first time, with late goals - both for and against - proving the theme of County's season so far.
  • Celtic's last two fixtures pinpoint exactly where they're at, as the Hoops dominate domestically but there's still a long way to go in order to compete with Europe's elite. An impressive display against St Johnstone is the type of match that sees them rewarded with Champions League football, before last season's runners-up Borussia Dortmund handed the Hoops a lesson in midweek.
  • Ross County have been competitive when kicking off their campaign, but Celtic have been perfect in the Premiership so far this season and that should continue against County in Dingwall.
