Team News

Dundee FC
Kilmarnock
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made three changes from the Dee team that lost in controversial circumstances 2-1 to St Johnstone at Dens Park, before they lost 2-0 to Celtic at Parkhead in their midweek match
  • Jon McCracken took Trevor Carson's place in goal behind Ryan Astley, Clark Robertson and Antonio Portales as opposed to Billy Koumetio in the Dee defence. Ziyad Larkeche and Ethan Ingram continued at left and right wing-back respectively.
  • Mo Sylla, Finlay Robertson and Lyall Cameron remained in the middle of the park but were joined by Josh Mulligan as the Dee shifted to a 5-4-1 to take on the reigning champions. Curtis Main made way for Simon Murray to start as the sole striker.
  • Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes named an unchanged Killie eleven after a sole goal was enough to nick all three points against Rangers, before they blew a lead up in the Highlands as Ross County came from behind to beat ten-men Killie 2-1.
  • Robby McCrorie remained in goal behind a back four of Corrie Ndaba, Joe Wright who replaced the injured Stuart Findlay, Robbie Deas and Lewis Mayo. Matty Kennedy and Danny Armstrong continued to provide the width on the flanks.
  • Liam Donnelly was sent off on Saturday in Dingwall, so David Watson came in to accompany Brad Lyons in the middle of the park. Kyle Vassell, who netted the midweek winner in Edinburgh, and Marley Watkins lead the line once more.

Prediction

  • Two of last season's Scottish Premiership top six go head-to-head, as 10th placed Dundee host a Kilmarnock side sat in sixth.
  • It was a familiar feeling for Dundee in midweek, as they've now lost 20 of their 22 away matches to Celtic since a 2-0 victory at Celtic Park back in May 2001. In fact, Dundee haven't won in their last 40 league meetings with reigning Scottish champions since a 2-0 away win at Ibrox against Rangers in March 2001. They haven't beaten weekend opponents Kilmarnock in three years either.
  • Kilmarnock have won more points from losing positions than any other team in the Scottish Premiership this season, including a crazy comeback at Dens against Dundee last month, as their remarkable run against Hearts at Tynecastle continued. Killie have now lost just one of their last 10 league trips to Gorgie, victorious in six, but hadn't won in three visits before the midweek win.
  • The four league meetings between Dundee and Kilmarnock all ended in draws, but Killie knocked the Dee out the Scottish Cup last season and won at Dens last month so could claim a quickfire double over Dundee.
