Newcastle midfielder wants Tottenham move

Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will look to force through a move to Tottenham this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.

Wijnaldum, 25, only joined Newcastle from PSV Eindhoven in a £14.5m deal last season but is keen to play Champions League football next season with Tottenham following the Magpies’ relegation to the Championship.

Newcastle have slapped a £25m asking price on the Dutchman’s head but Tottenham have no intention of paying that much despite actively looking to strengthen their squad.

Wijnaldum scored 11 goals during his maiden campaign in the Premier League last season but all of those came at St. James’ Park; only Sergio Aguero (15) and Jamie Vardy (14) scored more goals at home.
