United winger would consider Old Trafford exit

Memphis Depay has revealed he could look to leave Manchester United if he fails to get more first-team opportunities under Jose Mourinho.

The Netherlands international was tipped to become the next Cristiano Ronaldo when he joined from PSV Eindhoven at the start of last season but the United No.7 has struggled to establish himself in English football.

Memphis, 22, has struggled for first team opportunities in the last 12 months and he has conceded he could call time on his Old Trafford career in order to kickstart his career elsewhere.

“I am the same person and I know what I want,” Memphis told The Daily Mirror. “A supporting role is not for me. I’m not a player who is happy with the fact that he is under contract with Manchester United.

“This is my dream club, but I want to play. The training sessions are going well, I’m sharp and fit, but that applies to everyone. The level has become higher. Jose Mourinho is a top coach.

“Mourinho has expressed his confidence in me. Personally, but also in the press. I feel like a loaded gun but I have to wait for my chance in the first team. I am at my dream club and I want to fight for my place.
