Everton line up Howard replacement

 

Everton are considering a move for Burnley shotstopper Tom Heaton, according to the Mail on Sunday.

 

The Toffees are in the market for a new goalkeeper after it was confirmed that Tim Howard would be returning to America in the summer to sign for Colorado Rapids.

 

The experienced goalkeeper has recently lost his starting spot to Joel Robles for Everton, which will easy the blow of his impending departure.

 

However, Howard's move will leave Roberto Martinez's side short of goalkeeping options, with Heaton reportedly on the club's radar.

 

The 29-year-old, who is currently with Roy Hodgson's England squad for the international friendly meetings with Germany and Netherlands, has impressed for Burnley this season.

 

Sean Dyche's side are widely expected to secure promotion back to the Premier League this season, but could be powerless to resist the sale of Heaton should the fail to make an instant return to the top flight of English football.
