Leicester to reward Ranieri with new deal

Leicester City are preparing a new deal for manager Claudio Ranieri amid fears of losing him to a big club, according to The Times.

Ranieri’s appointment was ridiculed at the start of the season but the former Chelsea manager has Leicester five points clear with just nine games remaining.

The Italian manager is believed to have a buyout clause in his current deal that would allow a big club to prize him away from the King Power Stadium.

However, Leicester are understandably keen to shelve that clause and keep Ranieri for the long-term, with Champions League football almost certainly secured.

Incredibly, the Foxes were bottom of the league a year to the day, but now they are in touching distance of the Premier League.
