Manchester United fear Paul Pogba’s hamstring injury will keep him out of action until after the international break in November, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Pogba has missed United’s last four matches after suffering a hamstring injury in their 3-0 win over Basel at the start of the month and Jose Mourinho’s side are still unsure how long the France international will remain sidelined.
A decision is due to be made on whether Pogba will require surgery, but United have reportedly already consulted with Sakari Orava, a Finnish specialist doctor, who recently operated on Barcelona club-record signing Ousmane Dembele.
However, there are fears that Pogba may not return until their clash with Newcastle at Old Trafford on November 18, which means the 24-year-old would miss United’s next eight fixtures.
Included in that run are trips to Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as a home match against Tottenham, and a double-header against Benfica in their Champions League group.
Pogba had made a superb start to the season and his absence will continue to be a huge blow, despite the fact United are yet to slip up since he picked up his injury.
In fact, Pogba is the highest rated Premier League player this season after playing a direct hand in four goals in as many appearances for Mourinho’s side (8.09) rating.
