Manchester United ready £25m bid for Championship defender

Manchester United will bid £25m for Fulham teen sensation Ryan Sessegnon, reports The Guardian.

Sessegnon signed his first professional contract with Fulham before the start of the season after being heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.

The 17-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest young English talents and now United want to lure him to Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho is on the market for a new left-back and the Red Devils have already registered interest in Tottenham ace Danny Rose and Juventus defender Alex Sandro.

However, United’s scouts have been tracking Sessegnon’s progress for some time and now Mourinho’s side are ready to make their move for the teenager.

While predominately a left-back, Sessegnon can play right the way up the left flank and may also solve another problem for Mourinho.

The United boss is still looking to strengthen his offensive options and Sessegnon would certainly provide another option, although his inexperience means Mourinho would unlikely be satisfied with just his arrival.

The Fulham teenager has played a direct hand in an impressive 14 goals in 48 Championship appearances since breaking onto the scene last season and even netted a hat-trick away to Sheffield United earlier this term.
