Arsenal and Wolves to battle for Juventus outcast

Premier League pair Arsenal and Wolves are both interested in signing centre-back Daniele Rugani from Serie A side Juventus, reports Tuttosport via The Mail on Sunday.

The 25-year-old has found playing time hard to come by under Maurizio Sarri this season, with Rugani making just three league starts since his compatriot took over the reins in Turin.

Indeed, Rugani is behind Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini, Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral in the pecking order for the defending champions.

The Premier League pair were linked with a move for Rugani last season and Juventus' stance on the Italian may have softened due to a lack of game time this term.

Arsenal are in the market for a new centre-back this summer with uncertainty surrounding the futures of David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi.

Wolves, meanwhile, are looking to bolster their defensive ranks, with midfielders Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss both required to play at the back on occasion this season.

Rugani has made just 18 league starts since the start of the 2018/19 season, but has been on the winning side in 15 of those matches.
