Middlesbrough wantaway star re-integrated back into team

Gaston Ramirez has been handed a route back into the Middlesbrough first-team after being included in their mid-week training cup on the Costa Blanca, reports Sporting Life.

The Uruguay international handed in a transfer request in the January transfer window in a bid to force through a move to reigning Premier League champions Leicester but Middlesbrough flatty rejected all bids that came their way.

Ramirez, 26, hasn’t featured for Aitor Karanka’s side since Boro’s 0-0 draw with Leicester at the start of January and was given the weekend off in order to get his head straight after failing to secure a move away.

However, the former Southampton midfielder has travelled to Spain with the rest of the Middlesbrough squad as they begin a mini four-day training camp in a bid to fend off the threat of relegation for the remainder of the season.

Ramirez’s return to first-team action should help reverse Middlesbrough’s fortunes, with Karanka’s side chasing their first league win in eight matches when they face Everton on Saturday.

In fact, Boro have failed to win any of their 10 league matches that Ramirez has failed to start this season, while their talisman has created more chances than any other teammate despite missing the last month of action (24).
