United target set to remain in Italy

Rumoured Manchester United target Federico Bernardeschi will remain Italy according to Fiorentina president Mario Cognigni.

The highly rated 22-year-old has been attracting interest across the continent having broken onto the scene last season.

It's this term, however, that has scene Bernardeschi establish himself as a first team regular for the Viola, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG, along with United, all rumoured to be interested.

However, the youngster will be going nowhere, so says Cognini to Gazzetta dello Sport: "We think we can keep Bernardeschi for a long time."

Bernardeschi was part of the Fiorentina side that recently exited the Europa League at the hands of Tottenham, but the attacker managed four goals in seven Europa League outings this season.
