Real Madrid prepared to sell Manchester United target and sign Mbappe

Real Madrid are considering selling Manchester United target Gareth Bale in order to fund a move for Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe, reports the Sun.

Mbappe was one of the breakthrough stars of the season and has attracted widespread interest across the continent, with the teenager one of the hottest prospects in Europe on the back of a dazzling campaign for Monaco.

The Ligue 1 champions are insistent that they will not sell Mbappe under any circumstances this summer, but are braced for offers from a number of elite teams, including Real Madrid.

It’s possible that the La Liga and European champions will make Mbappe the first £100m player, however they need to raise the funds first before pursuing the 18-year-old.

That could see Bale shown the Bernabeu exit, with the Wales international attracting interest from Manchester United.

United are expected to spend big this summer in order to improve the squad on the back of their Europa League triumph, with Jose Mourinho expected to maximise the resources at his disposal to help return the club to its former glories.

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane is keen to offload Bale this summer, with the Wales international failing to live up to his potential following his then-record breaking move to Madrid in 2013.

United have had a long standing interest in the 27-year-old and would be more than willing to break the bank to secure his services.

He may not be the first player to move from Madrid to Manchester this summer either, with Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez both linked with a transfer to Old Trafford.
