Griezmann teases Manchester United move

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann has revealed he would like to play alongside Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba every day.

Griezmann was heavily linked with a move to United last summer but ended up signing a bumper new deal with Atletico after they were hit with a transfer ban.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave Atletico at the end of the season and has conceded he would like to play with Pogba at club level.

However, the France international was quick to avoid landing himself in hot water after adding it doesn’t necessarily mean he wants to move to Old Trafford.

“That would be beautiful to play alongside you and win trophies,” Griezmann told TV channel Canal Plus in a joint interview with Pogba.

“But be careful! That doesn’t mean I want to go to Manchester United.”

Jose Mourinho has cooled United’s interest in Griezmann since the end of last season and now Barcelona are the frontrunners to prise the Frenchman away from Atletico in the summer.

Griezmann struggled to rediscover his best form at the start of the season but has exploded into life since the turn of the year.

In fact, only Cristiano Ronaldo (18) has scored more goals than Griezmann (12) in Europe’s top five leagues in 2018.
