Everton set for talks with Sevilla target

Everton are due to meet with Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel on Monday with Sevilla showing signs of hesitation over completing a potential club-record deal, reports SportItalia, via Football Italia.

Sevilla have already confirmed they are in talks with their Italian counterparts for the Colombia international but are reluctant to pay €28m (£24.6m) for the 26-year-old, which would make him the club’s most expensive player of all-time.

Everton are due to announce the arrival of Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez after the European U21 Championships and Ronald Koeman wants to continue the club’s summer spending spree, which could eclipse £100m.

With Romelu Lukaku heavily linked with a return to Chelsea, Koeman will need to add significant firepower to the ranks if they are going to cope without the Belgium international and Muriel has emerged as a potential target.

Since joining Sampdoria from Udinese in 2015, Muriel has scored more goals than any other teammate in Serie A (17).
