Manchester United prepared to spend big for Bordeaux wonderkid

Manchester United are working on a deal to sign young Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux, reports the Daily Mail.

The 20-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring seven goals and registering a further four assists for an underperforming Bordeaux side.

United could look to sign Malcom for £33m next month and see him return to France on loan for the remainder of the campaign, though Bordeaux are holding out for £50m for the wideman.

Arsenal have also courted Malcom, however are thought to be behind United in the race to sign the former Corinthians man.

Bordeaux have an agreement in place to allow Malcom to leave the French outfit next summer and United are keen to land the player before his value skyrockets and interest in the attacker intensifies.

Malcom has completed the fifth most dribbles in Ligue 1 this season (50) and has scored more goals from outside of the box (4) than any other player aged 23 and under in Europe’s top five leagues.
