Liverpool lead race for teenage left-back

Liverpool are leading the race to sign highly rated Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon, reports the Sunday Express.

16-year-old Sessegnon has emerged as one of the hottest talents in England following a series of excellent displays for the Championship side.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City are all keen on the teenage defender, but Liverpool are believed to be fronting the queue to land Sessegnon.

The Reds are keen to strengthen at left-back, with James Milner currently the club’s first choice defender in the position.

Having been likened to Gareth Bale, interest is understandably high in Sessegnon, with Liverpool hoping to secure his services at the end of the season.

Sessegnon isn’t able to sign a professional contract until he turns 17 years old in May, but he’s widely expected to leave the Cottagers in the summer.

And while a host of Premier League sides have shown a liking in Sessegnon, Liverpool remain confident they can win the race to land the teenage left-back.
